Brazil’s Carnival (Carnaval do Brasil) is the country’s most famous festival, celebrated in the days leading up to Ash Wednesday, marking the beginning of Lent in the Christian calendar. It is a vibrant, music-filled event with parades, samba dancing, and street parties. In 2025, Carnival will take place from February 28 to March 5, with the main parades happening on March 2 and 3 in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo.
